We Are Back!

I have been away from the watch world for a while. Between finishing my master’s degree and pursuing my anthropological research, my family also moved from Idaho to Alaska about a year and a half ago. The Tudor Pelagos FXD: What More Could One Want From A Watch?

Around October last year, my friend and salesperson Kara asked me if I was interested in a Tudor FXD at Hal Davis Jewelers in Boise. Of all the watches released in the last couple of years, the FXD was the most intriguing. Tudor Black Bay P01: A Heavy Beast of a Watch

It has caused me to question myself and my place in the world for the second time this last decade. I see now there isContinue reading “Purposeful Life, Purposeful Watches”

Tudor Black Bay GMT

As I write this, I am wearing the GMT on an Everest rubber strap with the Tudor deployant installed.  It feels just like the Black Bay 41 I reviewed last year: hefty, thick, and solid.  It is not uncomfortable, nor is it too much for my 7.25” wrist; it isn’t exactly comfortable, either.  The watch straddles the lineContinue reading “Tudor Black Bay GMT”

What to Expect for 2021

It is time to get back to writing about watches. College has taken much of my energy, but now that it is winter break, its time for the watch writing to begin again.

Crown and Buckle Chevron Strap Initial Impressions

Watch straps are a far more in depth piece of equipment than I originally thought. They are a product that should be straight forward in both their conception and their use; they are a piece or pieces of material that are designed and manufactured to do one thing, keep a watch on the wearers wrist.
